LUFTHANSA AVIATION TRAINING AUCTIONS FORMER TRAINING AIRCRAFT

Lufthansa Aviation Training auctions a former training aircraft. The Beechcraft F33 Bonanza aircraft with the registration number N1569P has been owned by the former Lufthansa Flight Training since 1988 and has flown almost 27,000 flight hours in training operations in Goodyear, USA, where it is still located today. Thanks to the excellent service provided by LAT's own maintenance department, the technical condition of the aircraft remains excellent and nothing stands in the way of further operation over many years.

The European Flight Academy (EFA), the flight school of the Lufthansa Group, is mod-ernizing its training fleet in 2018. After five new Diamond DA42 aircraft replaced the previous Piper PA-44 Seminole at the flight school location Rostock-Laage in mid-April, the fleet conversion at the EFA location Goodyear in the USA has now also been completed. 25 state-of-the-art single-engine Cirrus SR20 aircraft are now available to Lufthansa Group flight students for visual flight training.

The fleeting-in of the SR20 also marks the beginning of a new era in pilot training at the Lufthansa Group. The predecessor of the SR20, the Beechcraft F33 Bonanza, is more than just an aircraft for many Lufthansa pilots. For three decades generations of pilot students have learned the basics of flying on the small propeller plane and experienced their first solo flights and landings.

To the highest bidder

For LAT, too, the "Bonanza" is not just an object of everyday use, but represents the Lufthansa Group's long and successful tradition of cockpit training like hardly anything else. For this reason, Lufthansa Aviation Training has decided to break new ground in the sale of its aircraft. One of the Beechcraft F33 Bonanza is to be auctioned at the highest bidding - among employees and friends of the Lufthansa Group. Depending on demand, the auction of further machines is also being considered.

The auction is conducted in two phases, in a pre-bid phase the participants can qualify for the main auction. Prospective buyers can register for the auction at einkauf.lat.gmbh@lat.dlh.de stating their full name, e-mail address, telephone number and address and will then receive access to specifications and auction details. Registration deadline for the pre-bid phase is June 15, 2018, 12:00 noon.

The European Flight Academy is looking for 500 new pilot students for the airlines of the Lufthansa Group this year alone. The theoretical part of the training takes place in Bremen, followed by the first practical phase, flying on sight, in the USA. Subsequently, the future pilots learn to fly on instruments at the EFAlocations in Rostock-Laage and Bremen.
