LUFTHANSA AVIATION TRAINING GERMANY AND THE GERMAN COCKPIT ACCOCIATION CONCLUDE LONGTERM COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS

  • Lufthansa Aviation Training Germany GmbH in Bremen (LAT DE Bremen) and the German pilot association (Vereinigung Cockpit , VC) have signed agreements on all subjects outstanding.
  • They thus contribute to a reliable foundation for the future-oriented focus of the Bremen flight school.

After having found an overall solution with the German Cockpit Association in 2017, a further agreement on all outstanding issues with LAT DE Bremen could be reached. Next to the independent wage agreement, LAT DE Bremen and VC also concluded a separate covering agreement for flight instructors. This lays down compensation structures, general conditions of employment like holiday entitlement or the number of monthly flight hours of about 30 flight instructors working for the flight school in Bremen. Both wage agreements run until June 30, 2022. Besides, a covering agreement “flight instructors” has been concluded that describes the deployment of flight instructors in Bremen as well as for Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo and Germanwings operations. This contract runs until end of 2020 for maximum flexibility.

“We are glad that we have come to a solution with our tariff partner, which allows us to continue guaranteeing excellent conditions for our current and future staff while meeting the operational demands and challenges of our traditional flight school at the same time”, said Stefan-Kenan Scheib, Head of the flight school in Bremen.
