LUFTHANSA AVIATION TRAINING (LAT) EXTENDS PARTNERSHIP WITH TUIFLY

Contract extended until 2020 at least
TUIfly pilot training at LAT in Berlin to continue

Lufthansa Aviation Training (LAT) and TUIfly have agreed to continue their 18-year-long partnership until 2020 at least. Therefore, TUIfly will continue to train its pilots on the 737 NG simulator at LAT in Berlin.

Each year, pilots of the holiday carrier spend 4,000 hours in the LAT flight simulators. The training puts special emphasis on simulating exceptional aircraft scenarios and also allows the pilots to complete the so-called “type-rating” to obtain the valid type-rating certification for B737 aircraft after having become familiar with that aircraft type.

Ulrich Lindner, LAT Head of Commercial, is pleased about the contract extension: “TUIfly is one of our biggest and most important clients in Berlin. By extending our contract, we continue our trusting and good cooperation and further strengthen Berlin as our training location.”
