Shaping the Future of Aviation Training

EATS 2021 - Reunion joy and training innovations

EATS 2021 from 2.11.-3.11.in Berlin

That was the EATS - a review

The 19th industry meeting at EATS in Berlin from November 2-3 was a very special one this year: After almost two years of the Corona pandemic with all its restrictions, it was the first "non-virtual" congress for most visitors and exhibitors. The joy and excitement about personal encounters could be felt everywhere and was also topic of conversation.

The focus themes on the two conference streams "Pilot Conference" and "Cabin Crew Conference" were completely influenced by the situation of the past two years and addressed not only the challenges but also the opportunities that have arisen as a result of the pandemic. Raghoonundun Gunputh, Product Manager Safety Emergency Procedure Training at LAT, gave new training impulses with his presentation "Training Paradigm Shift: Innovative Philosophy for competency-driven outcomes" and encouraged integrated and practice-oriented learning approaches.

At this year's LAT booth, themed "Reshaping the Future of Aviation Training", the innovative CBT-based e-learning examples were demonstrated live on iPads. Another key topic was LAT's innovative device strategies. Visitors could try out how realistic innovative training devices can be directly at our booth. Brunner's Novasim, an innovative mixed-reality-simulator that will find its place in LAT's training center in Zurich after the trade show, became a crowd favorite at EATS. Those who tried it out were thrilled by the combination between VR, motion and "real cockpit elements" and the resulting impressively realistic flight experience.

This example is representative of the numerous new training approaches opened up by innovative device strategies. The use case of Austrian Airlines, which has integrated the FTD Level II by LAT in Vienna into its training program, shows how efficiencies can be raised through new approaches without any loss of quality.

For all those who were not able to come to the fair or have further questions, we are of course very happy to provide any information on our innovative training approaches afterwards and look forward to talking to you soon.
