On May 19th 2020, the latest generation A320ceo simulator (FT81) in our training center in Vienna passed inspection from the Austrian Civil Aviation Authority, Austro Control (ACG), with flying colors. The full flight simulator of the newest generation is now available to airline clients for pilot training.
The FT81 from the simulator manufacturer CAE has been supplementing the training fleet of LAT since the beginning of July 2019 - initially at the location in Berlin, where it was inaugurated in summer. At the end of February 2020, thanks to cross-location cooperation, the simulator was relocated to Vienna after the building expansion had progressed according to schedule.
A total of five LAT full flight simulators are now in use in Vienna, three of which are of the type A320-200 as well as one Embraer EMB-190 and one Bombardier Q400. There are also two FNPT training devices and two cockpit mock-ups on site.
