From June 15-16, the 23rd World Aviation Training Summit (WATS), the world's largest gathering of aviation training professionals, took place in Orlando. Experts from Lufthansa Aviation Training (LAT) contributed a digital presentation to the event.
Martin Egerth, Senior Human Factors Expert & Process Manager Beyond Aviation Training, and Raghoonundun Gunputh, Product Manager Safety Training, spoke in a video presentation entitled "Challenges: perceive, acknowledge, solve and anticipate them" about the challenges in the training industry. They described the current effects of the corona crisis and LAT's positive experience in dealing with the pandemic with regard to elements such as empathy, flexibility and digitization. The focus of the presentation was the question of the extent to which the expectations of training content and concepts have changed and which additional adjustments are necessary in order to be able to react flexibly to future challenges. This includes in particular the further development of purely web-based or purely physical training courses towards a competence-based “blended learning approach” in order to enable even more efficient and sustainable training. What exactly is behind it? Watch the video lecture by Martin Egerth and Raghoonundun Gunputh in full length on the LAT YouTube channel.
